About This Project

Joel’s distinctively poised and charismatically confident vocal style is familiar to thousands of Singaporeans as the “voice of the news” on national radio. Since 2005, he has been part of a select team of presenters charged with delivering the half-hourly news bulletin for MediaCorp Radio’s English-language stations.

Having been chosen to represent his secondary school in public speaking competitions, Joel’s talent was recognized early on. It was a skill that would be honed to a sure proficiency over the next decade by numerous events in which he was asked to host or provide voice-over services for.

Into his tenth year of engaging audiences with his easy conversational style, stage presence and vocal charisma, Joel has cultivated a degree of sensitivity to a wide variety of demographics and interest groups. Whether in front of thousands of dignitaries at one of the nation’s most solemn military functions, or at more spontaneous public commercial events, Joel is versatile, eloquent and consciously does his part to ensure that the event’s objectives are met.

Joel also produces and voices commercials for MediaCorp Radio’s 938LIVE, Singapore’s only English-language news, lifestyle and current affairs radio station.

About the Certification

BizSAFE is a 5-step business safety programme designed to help companies in Singapore build workplace safety and health (WSH) capabilities. In September 2017, the programme has included SGSecure elements to help companies put in place measures to manage potential terror threats.

The key principles of the WSH Act is to reduce risks at the source, increase industry stakeholders ownership and áchieve good WSH outcomes and systems.
